How the Gold Price Calculator Works

Our gold price calculator uses the standard industry formula used by jewellers and bullion dealers across India. Here's the step-by-step breakdown:

Step 1: Calculate Base Gold Value

Gold Value = 24K Rate × Weight (g) × Purity Factor

For example: If 24K gold is ₹7,480/gram and you want 10g of 22K gold (purity factor = 0.916):
Gold Value = ₹7,480 × 10 × 0.916 = ₹68,521

Step 2: Add Making Charges

Making Charges = Gold Value × Making Charge %

At 12% making charges: ₹68,521 × 0.12 = ₹8,222

Step 3: Calculate GST

GST on Gold = Gold Value × 3%
GST on Making = Making Charges × 5%

GST on Gold: ₹68,521 × 0.03 = ₹2,056
GST on Making: ₹8,222 × 0.05 = ₹411

Final Price

Final Price = Gold Value + Making + Additional + GST on Gold + GST on Making

₹68,521 + ₹8,222 + ₹2,056 + ₹411 = ₹79,210 (effective rate: ₹7,921/gram)
